These terms govern your use of mysite-name's furniture upholstery and repair services in England. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your furniture restoration project to ensure a clear understanding of our services, responsibilities, and the restoration process.

1. Service Agreement

By using mysite-name for furniture upholstery services—whether through our website, telephone, or home assessment—you agree to these terms. Our services comply with relevant UK regulations including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.

We specialize in professional furniture reupholstery, repair, and restoration services for households and businesses across England.


2. Service Scope and Limitations

Our upholstery services include furniture assessment, material selection, reupholstery, repair, and restoration. We work with various materials including fabrics, leathers, foams, and structural components.

We reserve the right to decline projects involving hazardous materials, contaminated furniture, or items where restoration is not technically feasible. We may also decline items that violate UK furniture safety standards.


3. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure successful furniture restoration, customers agree to:

  • Provide safe access to furniture for assessment and collection
  • Disclose any pre-existing damage or previous restoration attempts
  • Make timely decisions regarding material selection and project approval
  • Ensure adequate space for furniture collection and delivery
  • Adhere to agreed payment terms as outlined in your service agreement

4. Assessment and Quotations

We provide free home assessments and detailed quotations for all upholstery work. Quotes are valid for 30 days and include breakdown of material and labour costs. Work commences only after written approval of the quotation and payment of any required deposit.

Additional charges may apply if hidden damage is discovered during disassembly. In such cases, we will contact you for approval before proceeding with additional work.


5. Material Selection and Compliance

We assist with material selection and ensure all fabrics and fillings comply with UK furniture fire safety regulations. While we provide guidance, final material choices remain the customer's responsibility.

Customers may provide their own materials, though we cannot guarantee results with materials we haven't sourced and tested. Material warranties are provided by manufacturers, not by our workshop.


6. Project Timeline and Process

We provide realistic project timelines during the quotation process. Standard reupholstery projects take 1-3 weeks, though complex restoration may require additional time. Delays in material availability or customer decisions may affect completion dates.

Furniture is typically worked on in our workshop where we maintain optimal conditions for quality craftsmanship. We provide project updates at key stages of the restoration process.


7. Payment Terms

We require a 40% deposit before commencing work, with the balance due upon completion before furniture return. We accept bank transfers, major credit cards, and financing options for larger projects.

Prices are quoted in British pounds and include standard restoration work. Material upgrades or additional services will be quoted separately and require customer approval.


8. Warranty and Service Guarantee

We provide warranties on our workmanship as detailed in your service agreement. These typically cover stitching, frame repairs, and mechanism work for 2-5 years depending on furniture type and usage.

Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, improper cleaning, or normal wear and tear. Fabric and leather wear are subject to normal material lifespan and not covered by workmanship warranty.


9. Furniture Collection and Delivery

We coordinate furniture collection and delivery at mutually agreed times. While we take utmost care, we recommend customers remove personal items from furniture before collection. We are not responsible for items left in furniture.

Completed furniture is stored for up to 14 days after customer notification. Storage fees may apply for longer periods, and uncollected items may be disposed of after 60 days.


10. Liability and Insurance

We maintain comprehensive insurance covering furniture in our care. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the repair cost or the furniture's current market value, whichever is lower.

We cannot be responsible for inherent weaknesses in original furniture construction or pre-existing damage that may become apparent during restoration.


11. Cancellation and Changes

Projects may be cancelled within 7 days of deposit payment without penalty, provided work has not commenced. Once materials are ordered or work has started, cancellation may incur charges for costs incurred.

Design changes after material cutting or work commencement may result in additional charges and timeline adjustments. We provide revised quotes for significant changes before proceeding.


12. Health and Safety Compliance

All our restoration work complies with UK furniture fire safety regulations. We use compliant materials and maintain safety standards in our workshop and during home visits.

Customers must inform us of any potential hazards such as sharp objects, biological contaminants, or other dangers in furniture submitted for restoration.


13. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, we encourage direct communication to resolve issues amicably. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be handled under the laws of England and Wales through the appropriate courts.
